NYESOM WIKE: A FIGHT FOR ETHNOREGIONAL JUSTICE

Image
NYESOM WIKE: A FIGHT FOR ETHNOREGIONAL JUSTICE  Opinion  by Washington Osa Osifo, Ph.D.  The Governor of Rivers State, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON is fighting an internecine war of wits. To many Nigerians, given the explicit conspiratorial events that played out during and after the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Convention, the explosion of a caldron of Governor Wike’s repressed anger and consequent brinkmanship is understandable. To some others, the quarrel may be justified but it has been taken too far. It is the reason why some have scurrilously lampooned the Governor for his pertinacity. Supporters and sympathizers of the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Sen. Iyocha Ayu, are mostly of this school of thought. You can’t blame anyone. Opinions are free and often laced with biases but facts are sacred! Nigerian politics from inception have often than not been colored and constricted by ethnicity and regionalism.  AS ANOTHER EDHA ELECTION DRAWS CLOSE, TIME FOR ESAN PEOPLE TO REQUEST FOR SCORECARD OF EDHA MEMBERS By: Oriaifoh Godwins The beauty of Democracy, is the fact that it brings about the government of accountability. In other words, those that were voted by a people to represent a constituency are expected to show their scorecard to the people that voted them into office, as the elected representatives, are servants to the people. Not the other way round. The people of Edo state can recall that the current members of EDHA were in the middle of the night of 19th June 2019 inaugurated. Nine members, some of who were kidnapped and forcefully made to join in the inauguration, as two of them, Nosayaba Igunbor and Uyi Esuehi later confessed in the viral video that flooded the social media at that time. They were inaugurated under the supervision of arm wielding thugs.  The people of Esanland can also recall that, our brother Ephraim Aluebhosele who is representing Igueben constituency,...
