The people of Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State have been called upon to come out en masse on Friday, October 23, 2026, to give a warm and rousing welcome to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who will be in Esan Central Local Government Area, in continuation of his direct grassroots engagement, project inspection, and political alignment in all the eighteen local government areas of Edo state.

The call was made by Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu, the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, as he emphasised that, the call is aimed at ensuring that the people of Esan Central give the Governor, who hails from the local government area, a befitting reception in appreciation of his aggressive development drive in the local government, and Edo state, and also, in recognition of his position as the Chief Executive of the state and an illustrious son of Esan Central local government area.


Speaking in his office, at the local government Secretariat, Hon. Momodu, said; "the visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the people to demonstrate their solidarity with the Governor and also express their support for his administration's development agenda for Edo State".


Hon. Momodu, who also called on residents, community leaders, traditional rulers, political stakeholders, youth groups, women associations and other interest groups to participate actively in the welcome programme, and make the occasion memorable, also emphasised that; "...the promise by our governor, that Edo state will deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our Presidential candidate for the 2027 Presidential election, must be fulfilled".


The anticipated reception is also expected to underscore the unity, hospitality and communal spirit for which the people of Esan Central are known.


As preparations gather momentum, the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, urged the people to set aside their differences and unite in welcoming their illustrious son, whose leadership at the state level has placed Esan Central in the spotlight.


"I call on all my people of Esan Central local government area, to seize this opportunity to demonstrate our collective pride in the Governor and reaffirm our commitment to the peace, unity and development of the local government area and Edo State at large". 

The core purpose of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s statewide tour of Edo State’s 18 local government areas centers on direct grassroots engagement, project inspection, and political alignment under his administration's "SHINE" agenda.


"Friday, October 23, 2026, is therefore an opportunity for all of us to come together in large numbers and give Governor Monday Okpebholo a memorable homecoming reception". The Chairman said.
