The Chairman of Esan Central Local Government Area, ECLG, Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu, has continued to demonstrate his leadership capacity and political organisational strength, following the successful conclusion of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s local government tour of Edo State, which ended in Esan Central on Friday, October 23, 2026.

The governor’s visit to Esan Central local government area, the governor's home, was characterised by massive crowds, enthusiastic reception by members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and an emphatic show of political support, culminating in an endorsement of Governor Okpebholo for a second term in office by the Edo State APC Working Committee, barely two years into his administration.

The successful Esan Central Local Government rallies, held at Ujabhole Primary School playground and Eguare Primary School, Irrua, highlighted the political mobilisation and organisational efforts of the ECLG Chairman, whose commitment to ensuring a successful outing was evident in the impressive turnout at both venues.

At Ujabhole Primary School playground, APC members from Wards One to Four trooped out in large numbers to welcome Governor Okpebholo, demonstrating enthusiasm and solidarity with the governor and his administration.

The atmosphere was equally electrifying at Eguare Primary School, Irrua, where another mammoth crowd of party faithful gathered to receive the governor and participate in the political rally.

The Irrua rally provided the platform for the Edo State APC Working Committee to formally endorse Governor Okpebholo for a second term, signalling the party leadership's confidence in his administration and its political direction. Governor Okpebholo's second term endorsement, is not a surprise, especially going by the avalanche of projects that he has executed in just one year and eleven months of his administration, that Hon. Sylvester Aigboboh, the APC Deputy state Chairman, briefly mentioned while addressing the crowd.

Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu, however left no stone unturned in ensuring that the governor's visit to his local government area was successful.

The Local Government Council Chairman, maintained constant communication and collaboration with key APC leaders in Esan Central, particularly the party's leader, Hon. Prince William Shaka Momodu, and the Esan Central APC Chairman, Hon. Roland Ekeoba, to ensure that nothing was left to chance.

The collaboration among the political leaders helped galvanise party members and supporters across the local government area, contributing to the impressive turnout at both rally venues.

The rallies also underscored the importance of cooperation between political office holders and party structures in mobilising grassroots support for the ruling party.

For Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu, the successful outing represents another opportunity to demonstrate his capacity to coordinate political activities, foster party unity, and mobilise grassroots support in line with the political aspirations of the APC in Esan Central and Edo State at large.

A Strong Political Statement For Governor Okpebholo

Okpebholo's visit to Esan Central marked a significant moment in his statewide local government tour, as party members used the occasion to demonstrate their support for his administration and express confidence in his political leadership.

The second-term endorsement by the Edo State APC Working Committee, after the party's State Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe passed the decision into vote, further elevated the significance of the rally, placing the governor's re-election aspiration firmly within the political conversation in the state.

For the APC in Esan Central, however, the successful rallies is a litmus test, and it provided an opportunity to showcase its grassroots presence, organisational capacity, and readiness to participate actively in the party's political activities.

The impressive reception accorded the governor at Ujabhole and Irrua has therefore reinforced the perception of Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu as a local government Chairman, willing to deploy his leadership and organisational abilities to advance the interests of his local government area/council and strengthen the APC's political structure.

As Governor Okpebholo's local government tour comes to a close, the successful and historic outing in Esan Central, stands out as a demonstration of political mobilisation and collaboration among the party's leadership, elected officials, and grassroots supporters.

For Hon. Prince Momodu, the successful rally is another opportunity to demonstrate that effective coordination, strategic engagement with party leaders, and grassroots mobilisation remain important ingredients for political success.
