The Squadron Commander, MOPOL 82, Uromi, ACP E. Okoyen, has called for more collaboration between residents of Esan Central Local Government Area, Edo State, and security agencies  in the collective effort to sustain the relative peace currently being enjoyed in the area.


ACP Okoyen made the call on Monday, 28 September 2026, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu.


The Squadron Commander, while chronicling the efforts of his team in maintaining security across Esan Central, Esanland and beyond, said the relative peace being experienced in the area was the result of the sustained efforts of security personnel and the cooperation of members of the public.


He noted that security agencies could not achieve the desired level of safety without the support and timely flow of information from residents, urging the people to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities and security challenges to the appropriate authorities.


To facilitate direct communication and prompt response to security concerns, ACP Okoyen made his telephone number, 𝟬𝟴𝟬𝟯𝟴𝟳𝟱𝟭𝟳𝟱𝟮, available to members of the public. He also provided the telephone number of the Irrua Unit Commander, ASP Sunday Musa – 𝟬𝟴𝟬𝟯𝟱𝟱𝟳𝟰𝟴𝟵𝟳, urging residents to use the numbers to report security challenges within their communities.


The MOPOL 82 Uromi Commander, however, cautioned members of the public against raising false alarms, stressing that such reports can undermine security operations and create unnecessary panic.


He appealed to residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information, emphasising that the collaboration of everyone is required to sustain the gains already made in keeping criminals at bay.


He assured the people that the security personnel under his command will continue to work towards protecting lives and property and maintaining peace across the communities within their area of responsibility.
