𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐌𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥 𝟖𝟐, 𝐔𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢, 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 

...𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲.


The Edo Central Mobile Police, MOPOL 82, Squadron Commander, ACP E. Okoyen, today, Monday September 28, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu.

During the visit, ACP Okoyen expressed appreciation to the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as well as public-spirited individuals in Esanland, for their various forms of support and assistance to the Mobile Police Force operating in Edo Central.


He noted that the support has been a great motivating factor to the Force, and has significantly enhanced the ability of the Officers and men of the force in carrying out their duties and maintain security across Edo Central and beyond.


According to him; "...the improved security situation, compared to what it used to be, has contributed to creating a safer environment for farmers, who can now access their farms with greater confidence, without the level of fear previously associated with travelling through isolated farm routes and bush areas.


He commended the Governor and other stakeholders for recognising the importance of supporting security agencies, stressing that such assistance has contributed to efforts to keep criminal elements at bay in the area.


The ACP who requested the Chairman to also support MOPOL 82 in every area he can, urged the people to desist from demarketing the efforts of the Police, who he said, as humans, are surceptible to making mistakes.


Responding, the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu, appreciated ACP Okoyen for the courtesy visit and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to security.


The Chairman who pointed out that, security remains a major priority of his administration, also noted that the peace and safety enjoyed by residents, particularly farmers, are closely connected to the efforts of security personnel.

He said; “...I hold security very dearly. Without you, the crime fighters, it would have been difficult for our farmers to go to farms. It is because of you people that we are able to sleep with our eyes closed.”


Hon. Momodu further acknowledged the sacrifices being made by security personnel in protecting lives and property, stressing the need for continued collaboration between the local government, security agencies and other stakeholders.


The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm the importance of sustained cooperation in strengthening security and maintaining peace across Esan Central and Edo Central Senatorial District.


Present with the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government Area, are Hon. Theophilus Oseigba, the Secretary to the local government, and Hon. Okodute Ehis, the Speaker of the Legislative Arm of the local government, while, the Irrua Unit Commander, ASP Sunday Musa, amongst other officers, were in the entourage of the MOPOL 82 Uromi, Commander.
