…Warns Against Destruction of Govt Properties

Hon. Prince Abdullahi Momodu, Chairman, Esan Central Local Government area, has declared zero tolerance for those whose stock in trade is the vandalisation of government properties, saying; "... whosoever that is doing those things should stop it, if they don't, we will be apprehending them one after the other".

The above development, follows the apprehension of a suspect in one of the offices in Akho Primary School, Irrua, in the early hours of yesterday, Friday 18th September 2026, where some properties were discovered to be vandalised.


The suspect, one Lucky Ujabu was apprehended by the officers of the Edo State Security Network, vigilante, in Irrua, where the suspect had turned an office space to a hideout, where he sleeps every night, and leaves early in the morning before the pupils resume.


Commenting on the arrest of the culprit, Mrs. Osagie Bello, the Headteacher, Akho Primary School, Irrua, said; "...the man, who turned one of the stores attached to this classroom to a kitchen, was caught red-handed".


"... even the bookshelf presented to us by the state government, was destroyed."


Continuing, Mrs. Bello also revealed that, before now, some unidentified persons have been invading the school, destroying the windows, adding that, with the assistance of some public spirited persons, the perpetrator was apprehended, and he happens to be the same Lucky Ujabu that was caught in the same act today.


The Akho Primary School Headmistress, called on the authorities to assist the school with a standby security personnel to forestall future occurrence of similar situation, especially going by the way the apprehended suspect is threatening her and her teachers.


Also, narrating the events that led to the arrest of the suspect, Mr. Sammy Arabomen, the Chief Security Officer, CSO, to the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, revealed that, the Chairman instructed him to to liaise with Edo State Security Corps commander, to apprehend those responsible for vandalising government properties in Akho Primary School, saying they went on the trail of the suspect, and eventually, during the early hours of Friday, 18th September 2026, the perpetrator was apprehended, and subsequently handed over to the police.
