...harped on the need to support Gov. Okpebholo

High Chief Traditional Dr. Abudu Ugbesia JP, the Chairman, Edo State Traditional Medicines Board, TMB, has again stressed on the need for all traditional medicines practitioners, including the native doctors to continue to support Governor Monday Okpebholo, the executive governor of Edo state, saying; "Edo state Traditional Medicines Board is alive and operating today, because Governor Monday Okpebholo revived the board".

Addressing the gathering of native doctors in Edo central, on Sunday, 16th of August 2026 at his residence in Ibore-Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo state, an occasion he hosted, High Chief Ugbesia who described Governor Monday Okpebholo as the Governor of restoration, also itemized some of the visible projects the governor has executed in Esanland, saying; "...this is also how he is working assiduously in Edo North and Edo South".


Continuing, High Chief Ugbesia said; "...unlike the previous administration, Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration revived Edo state Traditional Medicine Board, hence the need for all of us to support Okpebholo's administration of restoration".


Chief Ugbesia also used the opportunity to announce the dissolution of all task force and coordinators of Edo state Traditional Medicine Board across the state, pending governor Okpebholo's approval.


The native doctors who spoke, one after the other, all agreed that, going by the different projects he is executing across Edo state, Governor Monday Okpebholo is a blessing to the state; in view of this, he deserve all the support from the native doctors.


Chief Dr. Ehinor of Ogua kingdom, made it clear that the spiritual rules the physical, as such, Governor Okpebholo has all the support from the spiritual realm, hence his administration will last for eight years, and will be a model.


On his part, Dr. Isiwele Samuel (Esq), hailed High Chief Abudu Ugbesia, for his tact and wisdom in managing the affairs of the Board, and he enjoin all the members to be united, and abhor divisions or any thing that can cause divisions amongst the members.


Also, Chief Dr. Noble Aisazobor, advised members to restrict their practice to their areas of proficiency, saying trado-medical practitioners have their different areas of specialisations, and it is only when they stick to areas they are specialised in, that they will be able to maximize their potentials".


Also present at the gathering, include, the Secretary, Edo State Traditional Medicines Board, Mrs. Ganiyatu Vivian Uwaifo and Princess Helen Asekhame, a Board member.
