Following pockets of unfounded criticisms of the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo, from some quarters, the people of Esan land has been called upon to defend the Agenda that took several years of negotiations, concessions and alliances to achieve.

The call was made by an All Progressives Congress, APC, Chieftain of Esan extraction, High Chief Robert Okoinemen, the Chairman, Edo City Transport Services, ECTS, while castigating some persons that recently began to criticize the current administration of Edo state, for unfounded reasons.

Speaking, he said; "Edo Agenda for the emergence of a governor of Esan extraction, was not achieved like the snap of the fingers".

"We the People of Esanland, with the support of our brothers and sisters, the lovers of fairness, Justice and equity in Edo North and Edo South, fought vehemently for the actualization of Edo state governor of Esan extraction. It took us years of struggles to get to where we are today. Thankfully, Governor Monday Okpebholo, with his practical style of governance, has proven beyond every doubt that he is God-sent".

Continuing in parables, Chief Okoinemen said; "I like to advise my Esan people this way; a man that calls his wife a prostitute has also embarrassed himself because he will be called the husband of a prostitute".

"... Our people should come together and not be seen as distracting Governor Okpebholo's administration. Those in government should not see it as an opportunity to loot, but an opportunity to make impacts and also make a difference. Governor Monday Okpebholo's eight years administration must complete".

Hon. Chief Okoinemen called on the people of Esanland to create a formidable forum where they can come up with lofty and the practicable ideas that can be implemented, and also come up with their grievances and present same before the governor, saying; "...making cynical remarks and turning it to social media affair, is an embarrassment, not only to the governor, but also to they of Esan extraction, that are making the comments, an embarrassment to the people of Esanland and the people of Edo state in general". 

He therefore warned that such negative activities from people can lead to devastating repercussions from the 'Elimi'/ancestors of Esanland.
