The Chairman, Edo City Transport Services, ECTS, Hon. Chief Robert Okoinemen, aka the Oduma Of the Universe, has pleaded with the governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo to come to the rescue of the people of Ewoiki in Uzea, Esan North East Local Government, ENELG, area of Edo state, in constructing the road that leads from Ebun to Ewoiki, just as he did the road from Olinlin to Ebun.
Hon. Chief Okoinemen made this appeal in a video where he rode on a motorcycle from Ebun to Ewoiki, on Saturday, the 11th of July 2026, to vote in the just concluded local government election.
Speaking, Hon. Okoinemen said; "...we are very committed to this cause, in following the instructions of our party and the directive of our governor".
"...I wish to thank the governor for constructing the road from Ulinlin to Ebun, but the road to Ewoiki that also leads to Anagbete and Ugboha, also needs the governor's attention".
"...I had to summon the courage to be with my people, as it will not make any sense if I am not here, especially bearing in mind that, they always support and vote for our candidates".
"...i remain faithful to APC, and I remain solidly behind Akpakomiza, the governor. He has been rescuing us, he should rescue us more". He said.
Hon. Chief Robert Okoinemen, is an All Progressives Congress, APC, leader in Ewoiki-Uzea, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo state.
In an independent investigation to Ewoiki village, Winning Reporters discovered that the road leading to the village, where the people are predominantly members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is an eyesore, with no government presence seen anywhere.
Responding to the question on how candidates get to the village to campaign to the people, Chief Okoinemen said; "because of the terrain, the bad road to the village, candidates, most of the time find it extremely difficult to go to Ewoiki to campaign".
However, is said, "I am always equal to the task although it can be sometimes very difficult for me but I have to do the needful to keep our parties tempo high".
"... I ensure that every thing that has to do with entertainment of our people and every other logistics are taken care of. This, I have been doing in the past over 20 years now, and the records of our results and winning for APC are there for everyone to see".
Finally High Chief Okoinemen, expressed confidence that Governor Monday Okpebholo will change what he described as "the ugly narrative" that the people of Ewoiki has been facing over the years.
