Deafening Silence As ElRufai Goes And Comes Out Of Invitations From EFCC, ICPC, DSS
…warnings to all power drunks

Going by the grand standings, boasting, and glaring confidence with which El-Rufai spoke at the airport recently, when he returned from Cairo, everyone, thought: “So Nigeria being a country of particular concern, has gone this bad"? especially seeing the ‘sea’ of people that seemed to provide human shield to stop the law enforcers from doing their job.
In the midst of the drama, Elrufai said; “Even the President cannot…” Haaaaaa…. That was daring, especially if we look at it from the standpoint that the audacity to challenge the number one citizen of Nigeria is a clear audacity that, El-Rufai, is in other words saying he is bigger than Nigeria.
Again, what about his claim that somebody tapped the phone of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu? In any case, people and commentators are already microscopically, looking at that confession, and some are asking questions about how late General Uba’s whatsapp messages were intercepted. Again, if the NSA’s phone can be tapped that easily, whose phone cannot be tapped? That confession exposed the level of 'nakedness' we are in Nigeria.
Again, some are asking: Why are the phones of all the ransom collectors not tapped to enable the law enforcement agencies to know their locations? of very important concern is the exposure of the allegation of the purchase of a deadly substance, lithium salt. Quite revealing.
Equally important, is a statement from El-Rufai, saying; “ I will not look away and allow anyone to criminalise me… It is either I die, or the person dies. Go and ask Yar' adua…” the question is: are the Security Agencies and the Nigeria population, taking all these lightly? In my opinion, NO! Which is why I said the “silence is deafening”, and it is not only deafening, it is also ominous.
As all these play out, I can only come to one conclusion! NOTHING IN THIS WORLD LAST FOREVER… Power fame, lies, deceit, evil plots, etc all have expiration dates.
As it is today, it is very clear that the cry of Nigerians whose blood has been, and are still being littered in the streets, the cry of orphans who were exposed to the hardship of this world at very tender age, the cry of widows and women that have been made childless by the evil deeds of blood thirty demons in human flesh, has finally gotten to God, and God himself is intervening.
Going by the grandstanding of El-Rufai all these while, one expected the streets of Kaduna, Abuja, Lagos...to be flooded with people protesting for his release, but alas! The Silence is Deafening everywhere; people know better.
The power that was held by Elrufai has vanished into the thin air that power has expired.
When El-Rufai was in power as the governor of Kaduna state, southern Kaduna remembers, all the Christians and others that lost loved ones during those days of bandits and terror attacks in Kaduna state, remembers. Nemesis has come calling, as it will definitely someday come for all of us.
This reminds me of Dele Giwa of blessed memory. He said: "every injustice done to man, will definitely be repaid, if not by man, definitely by God". This statement, is so true.
All these ElRufai experiences should be a lesson to all politicians: Power Is transient. The earlier they realise this, the better their soft landing will be when their power eventually fades. When that time comes, the same people that shared their thoughts and hailed their grandstanding yesterday, will eventually develop cold feet. They should prepare for that time when power will leave them, or when they will eventually leave power. No wonder, President Goodluck Jonathan, in 2024, at the tail end of his administration, after he lost election to Muhammadu Buhari, said; “My billionaire friends has abandoned me”. Hmmm...Power, and the absurdity of life.
Today, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds the instruments of power in Nigeria. In view of this, as a former, political power broker, the actions of El-Rufai, is definitely not bravery; It is miscalculations and over assumption that, “Yes, I have the people behind me, I have the clout, I have the power”, forgetting that, just like Samson in the Bible, the hair/dreadlocks, that supplied the power, has been shaved. The head, is now bare, bald and empty.
Political office holders, power, brokers and others like them, should always have it at the back of their mind that there are three days in this world: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow and that political arrogance, when you are out of power is disastrous. Let wisdom lead.
