...more space to be created

By: Our Correspondent

Today, Monday, 12th January 2026, the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, ordered that the area currently prepared and allocated to the market men and women, in the temporary Irrua Marketplace in Idumu-Eguare, Akho-Uromi road, be increased to accommodate more Yams and Plantain sellers, as these group of traders do not have enough space to display their wares.

The Chairman gave this order, when this group of traders visited him in his office to lodge their complain with respect to the small space that was allocated to them, as the space can scarcely accommodate all the Yam and Plantain sellers..

Addressing the group, Rt. Hon. Iyere who made it clear that, the Idumu-Eguare market place is only a temporary one, advised them to do all they can, to manage the space for now, saying; "...however, I  can assure you that, in the next couple of days, more palm trees will be brought down, to create more space for you".

"...I want to assure you, that your worries are my concern. In the first place, it was because the Eguare market has become too clumsy, that made us to suggest that you temporarily relocate to Idumu-Eguare; I will ensure that you have enough space to display your wares in this temporary market, you only need to be patient".

The highly elated traders, hailed the Chairman for his pragmatic response.
