Gov. Okpebholo, Trending for Good Reasons, Amid Growing Opposition

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

The Governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is always in the news for good reasons, despite the effort of all the naysayers at downplaying the lofty people oriented projects he has been, and still executing in the past one year since his assumption of office as the Governor of Edo state.

Those naysayers, need to be tutored on how to be a good opposition; because, being in opposition is not evil. What is evil, is being blind to every good thing.

When a Governor is doing well, a responsible opposition should commend him, but when an opposition is consistently expressing doubt, or negativity about beautiful ideas, plans, or positive changes; often saying it won’t work or it can’t be done, then such oppositions are either enemies of progress, enemies of Edo state, or have some sinister hidden agenda to derail the rising of a New Edo state, that is being progressively built by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Thankfully, many people are seeing, and appreciating what Gov. Okpebholo has been doing, even when some are saying; "na wetin he don do sef"? In any case, life can be very difficult for who no get eyes ooo.

Ongoing 132 billion naira dual Ekpoma concrete road with street lights via support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ease the age long suffering of both students and commuters, is worthy of note. That road was a death trap. Untold number of lives properties, perishable food items were wasted on this road in the past eight years, before him.

Governor Okpebholo resolved the 128 AAU Medical students' induction bottleneck, that has been ongoing for 4years; and he also resolved the 810 AAU Nursing graduates' induction after 3 years.
