The 3-days burial Ceremony of Late Madam Joan Ejalode Uhomoibhi, Nee Eloeguase, the mother of Amb. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 2024 Edo state governorship aspirant, begins on Wednesday, the 4th of February 2026 with a Vigil Mass to be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Abraka, Delta State.
OnFriday, the 6th of February, 2026, a Funeral Mass will be held in her honour at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo state, and interment follows immediately.
The Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Sunday, the 8th of February 2026 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Ewatto, Edo state.
Madam Joan Ejalode Uhomoibhi, who died on the 29th of October, 2025, at the age of 106, is survived by; Dr. M. O Aburime, Rtd. Professor of Home Economics, Amb. Dr. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, a one time United Nations Undersecretary General, and a 2024 Edo state gubernatorial aspirant, Mrs. M. O Akhuemokhan, Dr. J. O Uhomoibhi, Medical Practitioner, South Africa, Dr. J. O Uhomoibhi, Professor of physics N. Ireland and Mr. Pius Uhomoibhi, USA.
She is survived by 27 grand children, including: Mrs I. E Audu, Mr. C. O Aburime, Mr. K. O Aburime, of the Fedetal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, Ms. M. E Onah, a lecturer at Delsu, Abraka, Dr. A. I Aburime, Prof of Finance, Australia, Mr. S. Aburime, Mr. G. A Aburime, Ms Osemuohan, Dr. Trinitas, Dr.David Uhomoibhi, Bar Joan Uhomoibhi, Mr. M. E. Uhomoibhi, Ms. F. O Uhomoibhi, Mr. M. E Uhomoibhi, Dr. Cathy Uhomoibhi, Engr. Eugene Uhomoibhi, Mrs. M. Akuamekuan, Mr. J. O Akuaumenkhu, Engr. George Akhuamenkhu, Engr. Benjamin Akuamenkhun, Ms. G. Other great grand children, are Master Akhuamehmen, Ms. Akuamenkhu and Jayda.
