Edo Govt Provides 100 Motorbikes to fight crimes..
...we Have Zero tolerance for kidnappings, related crimes -Chairman, Esan Central

Today, Friday 12 September 2025 the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, on behalf of Edo state governor, presented 100 Motorbikes to the members of Edo state Security Corps, as part of Edo state government's efforts in supporting the Security Corps to combat kidnappings and other related crimes in Esan central local government area, and Edo central in general.
The presentation of the bikes to the members of the Security Corps, held at Irrua Police Area Command, along Usugbenu Road, Irrua, the headquarters of Esan central local government area.
Addressing the leadership and members of the Security Corps, before presenting the motorcycles, Rt. Hon. Iyere said; "This hundred motorcycles to our Security Corps in Edo Central, is in line with His Excellency's, the Executive Governor of Edo State, distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo's zero tolerance for cultism and kidnapping in the State".
"We are giving you this bike to secure our farm roads, so that our people can go back to farm without fear; and we want to assure you as a government, that we will do everything possible to give you the necessary support to make sure that kidnapping and cultism and all other related crime become history in Edo Central. Thank you and God bless you".
Receiving the motorcycles, the Edo central Coordinator of the Security Corps, Mr. Ugboya Patrick, who appreciated the governor of Edo state for the provision of the motorbikes for their operation promised Edo state governor that the Edo state Security Corps will put the motorbikes into proper use and judiciously too, saying; "...this shows that, the governor has the interest of the people and the interest of the Security Corps at heart".
Also present with Rt. Hon. Iyere at venue of the presentation of the motorbikes, are Hon. George Egbele Washington, the Councilor representing Ward 5, Hon. Kelvin Okpiahior, the Councillor representing Ward 1 and the Secretary to the local government council, Hon. Deacon Davies Oigbochie.
It will recalled that, on the 21st of July, the members of the new Edo state Security Corps that underwent different trainings in combat and survellance strategies, were given new uniforms, different from what used to be, and they were charged to strictly restrict their activities to the forests and keep kidnappers and such related criminals at bay.
