Edo State Traditional Medicines Board, Set To Mark 40 Years Anniversary

Edo State Traditional Medicine Board, will be celebrating 40 years anniversary of its existence, and Africa Traditional Medicines Day, from Friday, August 29th to Saturday August 30th 2025.
Friday, 29th of August will be a Health Walk from Oliha Market, Benin, to the office of the Board, at the Secretariat Building, along Sapele Road.
The two days event, will feature exhibition of Herbal and Natural Medicines, Scientific and Cultural lectures, Cultural displays and entertainments, networking opportunities for health stakeholders, as well as the recognition of outstanding traditional medicines practitioners in Edo state.
The Chairman of the Board, High Chief Abudu Ugbesia, JP, also disclosed that the Board is currently working to ensure the establishment of a Herbal Home that will serve as a Model Centre for collaborative treatment between Tradomedical, and Orthodox practitioners, saying; "...as a board, we have come a long way in Edo state. This Anniversary, is worth celebrating and celebrating in a big way".
"We are working assiduously to establish a Herbal Home in Edo state, such that, what the orthodox practitioners are unable to handle, we can come in, and vice versa. We must not forget what we inherited from our fore fathers, there is power in nature, there is power in roots and herbs".
Chief Ugbesia, also used this opportunity to invite the general public to be part of the history making event.
