In recent time, when it comes to giving selflessly to the orphans, the girl child and widows, one name that rings a bell is Mary J Empowerment Foundation, ably powered by Lady Mary Okojie, a star rising strong in the act of giving to the less privileged, has gradually found herself tasked with the honorable responsibility of wiping tears and making life better for the less privileged and the and the downtrodden in our society, majority of who are neglected.

In a one-on-one chat with Lady Mary Okojie, the brain behind Lady J Empowerment Foundation, we spoke on a wide range of issues affecting our society today, and the grassrooted politician of immense value spoke on why she set up Mary J empowerment foundation.

According to her, the Foundation is a child of necessity, especially bearing in mind that the government cannot do everything for the people. In view of this fact she said, foundations and Non-Governmental Organizations must rise up to the task of supporting in whatever way they can.

Lady Mary Okojie revealed to me that during Festivals such as Christmas, Children Day, Ramadan celebrations, the Foundation always share food and other items to people including widows, widowers and the orphans. "...we always take our time to identify the needy that falls in this category of people".
