Esan Central Local Government Chairman, Flags off Free Eye Testing, Treatment Programme

Today, Wednesday 16th April 2025, the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, Area, Edo state, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere Ainiyelenhimi, flagged off a free eye testing programme for the people of Esan Central Local Government Area, saying; "...this free eye testing programme, is one of the initiatives of the governor of Edo state to deliver on his mandate to the people of the state".
The event held at the Okaijesan Town Hall, in Eguare-Irrua where eye specialists were on ground to conduct the free eye testing and treatment programme.
In an exclusive chat with Winning Media Online, the Chairman said; "the eye, is the light of the entire body. It can be very traumatic to live without the eyes, this is all the more reason why we see this eye testing and treatment programme as germaine.
"I thank His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo state, for this very important intervention".

Also, in a phone interview with the Chief consultant of the free eye testing and treatment programme, Dr. Braimoh Emmanuel, he revealed that, the free eye testing programme is taking place across the three Senatorial districts in Edo state simultaneously , saying; "... Today, the programme is kicking off in Esan Central Local Government Area, and will be on till 18th of April, after which Esan West LGA will be next, as other Local Government Areas in Edo Central, had also been visited.
The free eye testing and treatment programme, is an initiative of the Edo state government, in partnership with the local government.
