Chairman, Edo TMB, Underscores Need For Unity Amongst Tadomedics

The members of Edo state Traditional Medicines Practitioners, were yesterday, Tuesday, 15th April 2025 charged to always see themselves as one body under the umbrella of Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, as there are various Associations and groups that are all aiming at the restoration of the sick back to good health, but the their allegiance and commitment to Edo TMB, will go a long way in ensuring their greater recognition by Edo state government.
The Chairman, Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, High Chief Dr. Abudu Ugbesia, JP, gave this advise in a meeting he held with the Chairmen, the Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, and Women Leaders of the various Tradomedical Practitioners operating in Edo state.
The meeting that held at the conference hall of the Agency, witnessed a very large turnout, as the hall was filled to it's capacity.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, High Chief Ugbesia said; "...I called for this meeting because, we need to be united as one body under under the Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, that way, we will be able to get more recognition from the government, as we progress in our various activities.
"The Christians and the Moslems are recognised by the government, so why will the Traditionalists not receive the same recognition? The only way to draw the attention of the government to us, is unity".
Continuing, the Chairman of Edo state TMB, who made it clear that, the agency recognise all Tradomedical Practitioners, Associations and Groups, as Edo TMB operates an open door policy, also asked all present at the meeting, to suggest the ways forward in the actualisation of the much desired unity.
In their various responses, the members present who praised the efforts of the Chairman of the Board, High Chief Ugbesia, for his pragmatism in leading the Practitioners, unanimously agreed that unity amongst the various groups and Associations is indispensable at this time, especially bearing in mind that Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, has been in existence now for close to four decades.
Edo Tradomedical Practitioners, are the practitioners of traditional medicine in Edo state, that often use a combination of herbal remedies, spiritual practices, and cultural beliefs to provide healthcare.
