It Is Now Business Unusual For Kidnappers, Cultists In Edo
… As a new Edo state rises.

I always tell those that care to listen, that, Governor Monday Okpebholo, is willing, ready and poised to take Edo state to a greater level, such that, Edo state will soon become a good reference point to how a state should be governed. Some people, either for their bigot political reason, or for their other personal reasons, often wave off this my point of view.
Without any fear of speaking in superlatives, I have long concluded that Governor Okpebholo’s emergence as the Governor of Edo state, is divinely orchestrated as such, his mission of straightening all crooked paths in Edo state is not in doubt, and cannot be frustrated by man.
When the anti-kidnapping and anti-cult laws were passed by Edo state House of Assembly, and subsequently signed into law by the Governor, perhaps some persons that earn their living on those crimes, may have thought it was a joke, but now, with the demolition of the houses used by kidnappers for keeping their victims, a clear signal must have gotten to others, that a new sheriff that mean business is in town, as such, it is no longer business as usual.
The governor of Edo state, by his action of the demolition of two buildings used by the kidnappers one in Illeh, Esan West local government area, and the other in Uromi, Esan North East local Government area, is not only commendable, it also sends the right signal to appropriate quarters. Governor Okpebholo started from home, Edo Central, and of course kidnappers and cultists in Edo North and Edo south should know what this means; otherwise if I must interpret it for them, it means: “Edo state must be safe by all means”.
The Zero tolerance stance by Governor Okpebholo for kidnappers and cultists in Edo state will definitely make our towns and farmlands safer to live in and farm respectively.
All parents resident in Edo state should as a matter of ‘urgent reminder', and in their best interests, advice all their children and wards of the implications of involving in cultism and kidnapping. In same vein, it is time for landlords and caretakers to begin to do a proper profiling of whoever they are taking in, as their tenants, so as to avoid “stories that touches the heart”.
The good landlords, caretakers and tenants, can also go the extra mile of reporting to the law enforcement agencies, those suspected of nefarious activities around their vicinities, if they see something, they should say something. This way, Edo state will definitely become a better place for all of us to live in.
