Chairman, Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, Inaugurates Coordinators

Today, Thursday 27th March 2025, the Chairman, Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, High Chief Dr. Abudu Ugbesia Jp, Inaugurated Coordinators appointed from the different local government areas in Edo state, for the Board, charging them to abhor all sorts of sharp practices in the discharge of their duties, saying; "like our Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo normally say that A New Edo state is Rising; "so also, I want to announce to everyone here present, and to the whole world, that, a new Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, is rising along, and in view of this fact, we are sanitising the Traditional Medicines environment in Edo state".
Continuing, the Chairman of the Agency, who said; "...we will change the face of Tradomedical practices in Edo state, and also positively change the conception of people towards traditional medicines, as roots and herbs is the way to pure health", also added that, "if China and other countries can develop their traditional medicines to the level it is today, Nigeria can do the same, and even better".
Chief Ugbesia, also promised that, Edo state will take the lead in this wise. He warned all the Coordinators to be good ambassadors of the Board in their respective local government areas so as to continue to create a good image for Edo traditional medicines practitioners.
Those inaugurated, include: Dr. John Ejeke Ogumeh, for Esan Central, High Chief Ebanehita Ekpen (JP) for Igueben local government, Chief Dr. Ojuro Ebhodaghe, for Esan North East, Chief Dr. Abu Tunde Ominimini (JP) and Chief Priest Dr. Akhere Edehomo JP, for Esan West and Dr. Ogbole Felix, for Esan South East Local Government Area.
Also, Otaru Godwin Azegbebor, for Akoko-Edo, Dr. Anokehi Shaka for Etsako West, and four others in Edo North, were inaugurated, while thirteen coordinators were inaugurated to oversee the local government areas of Edo south.
