Attainment of perfection in the control and management of traffic in Edo state, is  just a matter of time, as measures have been, and are still being put in place, to ensure that the members of staff of the agency, as well as members of the public, regularly comply with traffic regulations.

The Managing Director, Edo state Traffic Control and Management Agency, EDSTMA, Engr. Stainless Ijegede, revealed this during the week, in an exclusive chat with Winning Media Online, saying; "EDSTMA has keyed into Governor Monday Okpebholo's mantra of A New Edo Rising, adding that, EDSTMA is definitely rising with the new Edo state".

Speaking, the Managing Director of EDSTMA, who revealed that, he has put measures in place to ensure that, all sorts of illegal and fraudulent practices by members of staff of EDSTMA, as well as erring motorists are effectively checked, including the setting up of a Task Force, and a Monitoring team, to monitor both the road users and EDSTMA staff, added that, a high standard of professionalism is expected from EDSTMA staff".

Before they were enlisted and given the uniform, he said;  "they were trained just like it is done in every paramilitary organization, and in-house training is also conducted from time to time".

Continuing, Engr. Ijegede said; "I will however, not reveal to you, all the strategies that we have put in place, because, some of the strategies will also assist the police in tracking down criminals. I must emphasise that, with those strategies, culprits will definitely not find it easy, if caught.

"I need to tell you this; three weeks before I was appointed as the Managing Director of EDSTMA, I had a nasty experience with some overzealous EDSTMA officials; it was as if God wanted me to have a pre-knowledge of what was happening there".

"My personal experience , as well as some feedbacks we get from members of the public, has largely guided me in putting right some wrongs, and I strongly believe that, we will tell a good story at the end of the day". He concluded.
