Effective Use of Nigeria Police Control Rooms

By: Douglas Ogbankwa, Esq

On Tuesday the 31st of December,2024, Deputy Inspector General, DIG, of Police (Retired) Sylvester Abiodun Alabi Fdc Mni Npm and 3 other AIGs were pulled out of the largest Police Force in Africa-the Nigeria Police Force.

DIG Alabi maintained a distinctive and distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force where he was like Police Poster Boy, and was the egg head at the Force Investigation Department, Abuja; being a good example of how to be a Police Officer.

A Police Officer is like a priest or Imam. He stands as an intermediary between man and God and must do justice at all times. DIG Sylvester Alabi was a man of justice and fairness. In celebration of the excellence he represents, this article is put here to honour a collosus and an enigmatic character. It was Professor Wole Soyinka that said; "It is honour to honour, honour and a greater honour to honour those who honour.

The Nigeria Police Control Room Numbers in every State of Nigeria is an effective means to stem crime and make you safe and secure.

When you call the number of your State Command Control Room, you introduce yourself and explain your situation, which you must make look like a real emergency!

You must create by your call an urgency, that requires a swift and instant intervention of a Police Patrol Team and I assure you that the Police will respond immediately, as there are punitive measures against not doing so, especially if something eventually go wrong.

Again, ensure that you give a vivid description of your address and be patient with the Control Room Operators, ensuring that you follow up on them with subsequent calls until they get there. Never lose your cool; until they get to you, do not believe the Cliche that never show up, they do as they have 100 Percent response if you follow!

You can find out any information you require about the Police and the Security situation in a State.

If you explain yourself well, you can be given the phone number of Key Police Operatives for operational or investigative reasons only. You can also be linked to the Public Complaint Unit or the Police X-Squad for Police Misconduct, from the Control Room.

If you have any further challenges, Google what you require and you will get results.

The Control Room phone number, from my experience, is very helpful when the need arises.

The following are the Nigeria Police Control Room Numbers in each State of the Federation.
