Edo State Can Be A Tradomedical Hub

Going by the spate of drift of Medical Doctors and other Medical personnel out of Nigeria, in search of greener pastures in the western world, Nigeria, and particularly, Edo state, must begin to think inwards in finding solutions to our health challenges. Edo state, can become a tradomedical hub.
The above sentiment was expressed by the the Chairman, Edo state Traditional Medicine Board, High Chief Dr. Abudu Ugbesia, JP, while speaking with a team of newsman, in Benin.
Chief Ugbesia, who lamented on the massive exit from Nigeria, of Medical Doctors, and other Medical personnel, however, maintained that; "though, there is nothing we can do to stop these skilled Medical personnel from leaving Nigeria, as we all seek for better living standard, but there are lots we can do to fill in the gap, saying; "we must not allow the vacuum created, as a result of the shortage of Medical Doctors, to affect our health sector, as Edo state can be a Tradomedical Hub that other states in Nigeria, can copy from".
Continuing, High Chief Ugbesia said; "I am confident that, Edo state can make a difference. The Edo state Tradomedical practitioners, has the capacity and expertise to solve a number of Medical challenges, such as epilepsy, cancer, child birth challenges in women, that some people refer to as bareness, and more.
"The herbs and other materials that are needed to treat some of these common sicknesses, are readily available locally. We only need to harness our efforts.
"Governor Monday Okpebholo has repeatedly said, a new Edo is rising, that mantra will definitely manifest from the activities of Edo state Traditional Medicine Board.
"In time to come, we will prove to the world that, caesarian session on women, during childbirth, is needless". Chief Ugbesia concluded.
