What Obaseki Could Not Do in about 70 Weeks this Government is Doing it in 3 Weeks.
The Vanguard of the Independence of the Judiciary Commends the Governor of Edo State -H E., Senator Monday Okpebholo and His Attorney General -Dr Samson Osagie for putting machinery in motion to swear in the 3 Judges approved by the National Judicial Council for appointment since June ,2023 .The swearing is slated for Monday 2nd December,2024.
The Vanguard for the Independence of the Judiciary reckons that what Obaseki could not do for about 70 Weeks , the Governor of Edo State and his Attorney General is doing it in about three weeks.
This demonstrates the new Administration"s adherence to the Rule of Law and due process .It is imperative that Officials of Government should know Laws and due process are to be followed,whether we like the people involved or not .This is the only way a Society can grow .A scenario where you inaugurate a House of Assembly at night, refuse to swear in 14 Members of the House for 4 years , refuse to swear in Judges for about a year and when you agree to swear them.in after one year , you swear in 5 of 8 approved for appointment and you leave 3, it is obviously not a democratic setting , but a charade of autocrats.
We as citizens should support what is right and not who we like .Life is like a cycle.It could be your turn tomorrow.
