'For Our Common Good' Launched
...as Okpebholo becomes governor

On the eve of the day of the inauguration of a new governor in Edo State, the book; 'For Our Common Good', written by Dr. Blessing Agbomhere Esq, was launched.
The launching, held at the Protea Hotels, Benin, Edo State, on Monday, 11th November 2024.
Speaking at the event, that was well attended by the high and mighty, especially in the political space, the former Edo state Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Phillip Shuaibu, who commended the effort of the author for writing the book to coincide with the incoming of a new governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, added that, leadership should be for the common good of both the leaders and the led, saying; "what endeared me to the new governor, is the fact that, this governor is not one that is brought by any godfather; he emerged as a result of people's acceptance of him, and he will be answerable to the people of Edo state that made it possible for him to emerge as the governor".
"We want to have an Edo state that is rising. Rising for the good of our people, rising for the benefits of our children, and rising to sustain the essence of democracy, and for me, we need to give him all the needed support and we need to pray for him".
On his part, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, the Edo state All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman, who wrote the foreword of the book, said; "Blessing Agbomhere is a focused individual who has written several books and a lawyer that inspired me to go back to school to read law".
Continuing, Emperor Tenebe who said the book, 'For Our Common Good' is very rich and it is dedicated to our governor, added that, Barrister Agbomhere supported the governor from the beginning of his gubernatorial race, all through the election and after the election, also wrote the book as the icing on the cake.
In the book, explaining the meaning of 'Common Good', Barrister Agbomhere wrote; "...From an economics and philosophical standpoint, it is assumed that, providing for the common good, will require a degree of sacrifice by many members of the society. Such sacrifice often comes in the form of paying high taxes on the cost of industrial production..."
Eminent personalities that attended the event, include, Rt. Hon. Comrade Phillip Shuaibu, former Edo state Deputy Governor, General Charles Airhiabhere Rtd, an APC Chieftain in Edo state, Justice Archa, Hon. Clem Agba, a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Barr. Idahagbon, former Edo State Commissioner for Justice, Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye, former Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gideon Obhakhan, Former Edo state Commissioner for Education, Hon. Danco Anamero,
Hon. Afegboa Kassim, a former Edo State Commissioner, who coordinated the launching of the book, and several others.
