A DAY BEFORE 2024 EDO GUBER...let's be reminded

I write not as a Journalist that I am, but as a concerned citizen of Edo state, as such, a stake holder in the development and progress of our dear state, that has over the years been caged and under siege, like a conquered territory, but in this case, conquered by mercantilists and gluttons that have been mercilessly and brutally emasculating the people.
William Shakespeare wrote: "there is a tide in the affairs of men.... I am using this opportunity to remind all Edo people that, there is currently a tide in the affairs of Edo state, and now is the time for us to grab the bull by its horns and change our history for good.
Edo state has never experienced the kind of brutality like the use of thugs, to subdue people, like it was done to the 14 EDHA members that were schemed out of a so called inauguration.
This night, before 2024 Edo Guber, Edo people must be weary of sweet talking, 'concerned looking', pretentious candidate that does not mean well for Edo people, but is only interested in shortchanging the people of Edo state for his cronies from Lagos, and other places. Yes, we had an experience of this, from the godfather, and he was never bothered about the menacing flood in the entire Edo state, neither does he care a hoot whether Edo state was under siege of kidnappers, armed robbers etc. Yet, he assumed the toga, 'Chief Security Officer' of Edo state.
A night before, the people of Edo state must be reminded of all the audio promises, scams and complete disregard for the plight of the people. We must be reminded that, 14 out of 24 constituencies of Edo state House of Assembly, were denied representation for a full four years. We must have it at the back of our minds that, Asuelimen Ighodalo, will take this illegality a step further.
We should be reminded that for almost two years, Commissioners were not appointed, neither were there local government chairmen. Edo state, during that period, was singlehandedly administered by the governor, and his partners in scamming, he was never bothered about the call by Edo people for the proper running of the state.
A day before, we must sincerely ask ourselves if we want the continuation of this experience, or we want the old order to change; because, an adage goes thus: "TELL ME WITH WHOM YOU GO, AND I WILL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE". Asuelimen Ighodalo, Obaseki's anointed choice, who was imposed on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, goes with Obaseki, hence will not do anything better than what Obaseki has done, if given the mandate.
Today, 20th September 2024, it is on record that I sounded this note of warning.
