Following the outcry of Nigerians on the skyrocketing cost of living in the country, that is making life unbearable, and the subsequent cut in the cost of governance, so as to make funds available for essentials, that could cushion the hardship felt by the people, Mr.Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, has been called upon to borrow a leaf from President Tinubu's good leadership example, and do same in the interest of the people of Edo state, who have been bearing the brunt of his draconian and irresponsive administration for eight years running now.

This call, was made by the Deputy Director, Edo Central Mobilisation Committee, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Robert Okoinemen, aka the Oduma of the Universe, while speaking in a telephone chat with Winning Media News Online.

Chief Okoinemen said, Obaseki should for once listen to the yearnings of the people of Edo state, this time around, especially bearing in mind that, he has just one month to leave office. Even if the effect of his decision is not felt, at least, it will be on record that he listened to the yearning of the people.

"Obaseki's irresponsiveness to the plight of Edo people, is worrisome". Chief Okoinemen said.

Continuing, Chief Okoinemen who said, a number of Edo people that are praising Obaseki, because they are individually benefitting from his government, are jobbers who will all very soon, turn against Obaseki, added that; "these set of people, should be reminded that the people of Edo state are observing and taking records".

"Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Edo state governor in waiting, a man with listening ears and empathy for the people, with soon be at the saddle of affairs in Edo state to change the ugly trend of events that Obaseki has unfortunately put Edo state into for eight years now". Chief Okoinemen concluded.

It could be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently announced a reduction in the cost of administration recently.
