Edo State Needs A Realist, Not A Talkative.

-Chief Okoinemen

The people of Edo state has come a full circle in listening to fables and allowing some self serving, so called leaders to continue to sway them in different directions only to end up in siphoning the state's commonwealth and diverting it to their personal use while the majority suffer neglect, in terms of poor infrastructure, high and sometimes double taxations, security lapses, etc.

The above view was expressed by the Deputy Director, Mobilisation Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council for Edo central Senatorial district, Chief Robert Okoinemen, the Oduma of Uromi kingdom, in a chat with Winning Media recently.

Continuing , he said; "...I have seen many people condemn Senator Monday Okpebholo, aka Akpakomiza on the account that he is not vocal, hence can't effect any change if he becomes the governor of Edo state; but, I ask them if what we need in Edo state, is a talker, and not a doer..."

"... I ask them what positive changes the talkers that has been managing the state in the past close to eight years now, has been able to effect that has significantly positively affected the lives of the people..."

"... I ask them what changes are made in Education, with dilapidated structures in most schools, what changes are seen in the bad roads, poor health services, Youth empowerment, women inclusion in governance, even in responsive and responsible governance with the Special Intervention Team, SIT, endlessly governing Edo state University, Ekpoma, and gradually emasculating the university, to the extent that, the number of applications into the university for admissions has dropped drastically; where some lecturers are victimised and summarily dismissed..."

"...that institution is now a shadow of itself, yet some Edo people are celebrating talkers? I think Edo state has gone beyond this..." Chief Oduma said.

Chief Okoinemen, who advised that, Edo State should say 'no to scammers' in the coming September gubernatorial election, added that; "they can fool some people sometimes, but they can't fool all the people all the time..."

Again, Chief Okoinemen continued; "...what I have come to notice, is that, when silent Akpakomiza talks, Edo people listens and takes him seriously, even as hell is let loose in the camp of the enemies of progress of Edo state..."

" We cannot continue to allow those that put this state into eight years of nothingness, to continue to deceive us. Enough is enough." Chief Oduma said.
