By: Oriaifoh Godwins

The monthly disbursement of One Billion Naira each to Churches, Moslems and Traditional rulers as announced by the governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, recently, has been condemned by Bishop Solomon Oriaifoh of Ascending Tabanacle Worldwide Ministries in a recent video where he spoke with Voice from the Wilderness Media on his views about the monthly disbursement of Billions of naira to Churches, Moslems and the traditional institutions.

According to Bishop Oriaifoh, who penultimate to the interview, revealed that  he earlier saw it on social media that one Billion naira each was disbursed to the Moslem, Traditional Rulers and Churches in Edo state, also pointed out that, while that of the Traditional institution and Moslems has been shared, the one Billion for the churches, he said; '...some fathers within the church circle were fingered as the receivers of the money on behalf of the church..."

Continuing, Bishop Oriaifoh who said he further made some investigation on the said fund and discovered that the Moslem and traditional rulers has shared theirs while the whereabouts of the one Billion to the church, is still sketchy.

Finally, Bishop Oriaifoh who thanked governor Obaseki for the feeding of the poor and vulnerable people of Edo state so as to alleviate the economic hardship on the people, said; "... even though this initiative is late, it is better late than never..." He however questioned the methodology/process of identifying who and who is qualified to benefit from the governor's initiative of feeding programme, especially when the data of such People in churches, are either non-existent, or not reliable.

It would be recalled that recently, Governor Obaseki launched the operation “Feed the Hungry Initiative” in the state with N1 billion each to be distributed through the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Muslim communities.
