IGUE Festival: Amb. Prof. Uhomoibhi Felicitates with Benin Monarch...
Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, an outstanding Nigerian first class Diplomat, the longest serving Permanent Secretary in the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, felicitates with His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin Kingdom on the occasion of the IGUE Festival.
Ambassador Uhomoibhi, who is also the foremost Aspirant in the 2024 Edo governorship election, in his felicitation message, emphasised the importance of the IGUE Festival as well as other festivals in the Benin kingdom, in the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the Benin kingdom. He commended the people of the kingdom for ensuring the continuity of this heritage.
Again, Ambassador Uhomoibhi, who pointed out that the togetherness of the people of Benin kingdom, as well as the paying of homage to the Monarch, is exemplary of a kingdom and people that respects their culture and tradition. He prayed that may the peace and development that the Benin kingdom has experienced since Oba Ewuare II ascension to the throne of his forefathers, continue to trickle down to other parts of Edo state.
