We have a collective responsibility, not only to ensure that Edo State get back on its feet, we must collectively ensure that this time around, we leave a legacy that generations yet unborn, will be proud of, and the only way to ensure this, is to practically get involved in the selection process of who becomes the next governor of Edo State, but one thing is clear, I am on a rescue mission.
Above, were the words of Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, the foremost gubernatorial aspirant who is contesting under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the governorship position of Edo State, come 2023.
In a chat with a team of newsmen, in Benin City, Edo state, recently, Ambassador Uhomoibhi who pointed out that, governance is not rocket science, said; '...our people are not lazy people. Edo people only expect the basic enabling environment to live their lives, and this is clearly the responsibility of the government...'
'...Edo state, under my leadership, will become a model that other states in Nigeria will copy from...'
'...governance is not rocket science. Together, we can do it if we are united and agree to make things work. The first step to achieving the desired change in our state, is to put our best foot forward...'
'... with my integrity, and wealth of experience in governance, that has earned me solid global connections, I can and will bring all these to play in the governance of Edo state...'
'...Very many corporate organisations and individuals in the international communities, are willing and ready to invest their surpluses elsewhere, but they are only ready to do so, if they are sure of the integrity of the person approaching them for such purpose...'
Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, a first class diplomat, the longest serving Permanent Secretary in the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a one time Undersecretary General of the United Nations, UN, is the foremost, and clearly most desired 2024 Edo state governorship aspirant. He is contesting under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
