Again, Obaseki Makes Promise, agrees for Legacy PDP to produce Gov.

In a meeting held by Edo state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Stakeholders and members of the state working committee, yesterday,14th December, 2023 at the PDP National Secretariat, in Abuja, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the executive governor of Edo state, has pledged to allow the legacy PDP to have their way, to enable the party to win the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election. Mr. Obaseki, who appreciated the kindness of the party to him, also promised to allow peace to reign by conceding the positions of the Governor and Deputy Governor to the legacy PDP for the 2024 Edo governorship election.
Governor Obaseki said; '...I appreciate the PDP for rescuing me by giving me the Umbrella when I was disqualified from the APC, I will continue to appreciate the opportunity". Continuing, he added that; '...whatever sacrifice is required from me to ensure peace and unity, I pledge to make those sacrifices for us to win the 2024 Governorship elections...'
In an interview with a team of Journalists, Dr. Robert Aigbokhan, a PDP chieftain, said; '...we hope this promise made by Obaseki, will not end like one of those he made in the past...we hope it is not a deja vu; because, this is not the first time he is making promises that will not see the light of day...' Dr. Aigbokhan added that, it was the failure of Obaseki to adhere to his promises that resulted to the failure of the PDP in the elections of February 25th, 2023. Saying; '...it is now time for Gov. Obaseki to allow the Legacy PDP to produce the Governor and Deputy, the same way he came and took both in 2020'. This, he said, is a sacrifice worth the while to save PDP from extinction in Edo state, come 2024 Gubernatorial elections.
