Odi Okojie's Senatorial Ambition, Mix of Competence, Ebakota
By Odi Okojie Media Team
In the politics of Edo Central Senatorial District, the ancestral homeland of Esan people, the fear of "Ebakota Accord" is the beginning of political wisdom.
"Ebakota Accord" is the rotation of elective political offices between the old Okpebho and Agbazilo federal constituencies and between the local government areas in both constituencies.
It has become settled that whenever a politician is muting the idea of contesting election to the Senate or House of Representatives in Edo Central Senatorial District, the first question that comes to him during consultations is: Is it the turn of your federal constituency or local government area to get the position? Thus, Ebakota is the first hurdle to scale.
Ahead the Edo Central Senatorial bye-election 2025, Esan North-East is the favoured local government area by reason of the fact that it is the turn of Agbazilo to produce the Senator for the 10th Senate and by the same token of "Ebakota Accord", it is the turn of Esan North-East local government area to produce the Senator for Agbazilo's turn, as Senator Odion Ugbesia took the turn of Esan South-East local government area in the 6th and 7th Senate. Incidentally, Hon. Odi Okojie is from Esan North-East local government area. By this arrangement, Odi Okojie has scaled the all important "Ebakota Accord" hurdle.
The second hurdle a serious aspirant for elective political position has to face is that of competence.
Hon. Odi Okojie who is presently representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency in the House of Representatives has been performing, attracting developments to his constituency. He has been a vibrant member of the House who has sponsored more than five motions that have been passed and now being implemented by the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs of government.
As Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum, Mid Stream, Odi Okojie championed the dismantling of the encumbrances that clogged the commencement of operation of Dangote Refinery and the rehabilitation of the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries. These has resulted in the domestic sourcing of petroleum products which have in turn translated to availability of the products with reduced prices. Thus Odi Okojie has also scaled the competence hurdle.
Odi Okojie has also scaled the directive principle of party policy of availing bye-election tickets to elected party members in the constituency. He's the highest elected political office holder from both the old Agbazilo federal constituency and Esan North-East local government area, the beneficiary of the Senatorial slot by "Ebakota Accord".
These are the reasons we appeal to those who are still seating on the fence to come to the Odi Okojie camp to work with progressive minds to enable the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeat other political parties in the Senatorial bye-election.
Support, nominate and vote Hon Odi Okojie for Senate, Edo Central Senatorial District.
