Immediately after the governorship election victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the September 21st election, a revelation was unfolded, which will no doubt fancy the APC faithful and supporters why it must have been a strategic that indeed worked against the opposition party.
We're very sure that our readers are already inquisitive and yearning to know what was the strategy? How did the APC come about the strategy, who formulated it and how was it deployed and lastly who revealed it? Well, those who revealed it seems to be more important to us in the context on this piece.
And indeed the revealer and formulator of the flawless strategy was no other than the greatest political master planner of this democratic dispensation, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recal that, after the APC victory in the Edo 2024 Governorship election, the President received in audience our Governor, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo and his Deputy, Rt Honorable Dennis Idahosa who were then, still addressed as Governor-elect, alongside party chieftains.
Addressing them, Mr President made a salient remark when he said, "Before the election we were very confident of winning because while others were busy running around, we carefully came up with a winning strategy by choosing people who have contested and won elections in recent times as our candidates".
Indeed the president let the cat out of the bag regarding the winning strategy of the APC In that election, which is ensuring that somebody who has contested election in recent times, was fielded as the party's candidate.
The reason is very simple, for someone who has already contested and won elections in recent past, it becomes an added advantage when such a person emerge as a party's candidate in any election because he already has a certain amount of voters who believe in him and the advantage increases when the person has not only win an election but is also a performer.
It is on this note we believe that the Edo Central Senatorial ticket of the APC be given to one person who is indeed a winner and as well as a performer
And this person is no other than the incumbent member representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency at the Federal House of Representative, Hon. Odi Okojie.
Even before Prince Odi Okojie threw his hat into partisan politics, he has long been at home with his Esan brothers and sisters, both at home and in the Diaspora; he's familiar with the challenges confronting Esan land. Odi Okojie and his amiable wife, Mrs. Mercy Johnson-Odi Okojie are always with Esan people in his Uromi country home, ministering to their needs as well as impacting the lives of those around.
It was his experience engaging his people that prompted him to venture into politics so as to create a wider platform to reach out to more people at the community, Local Government Area, Constituency and Senatorial District.
This is why the majority of people of Edo Central Senatorial District are already welcoming the senatorial ambition of Prince Odi Okojie to enable him replicate all he has been doing for the people of Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency in the entire Esanland.
