As the race for the Edo Central Senatorial seat hots up, Hon. Prince Odi Okojie of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not only become the emblem of a front runner for the position, but the mere mention of his name in the race has continue to send jitters down the spine of aspirants from other political parties.
Information at our disposal from reliable sources from other political parties who craved anonymity is that most of the aspirants are now withdrawing from the race and stepping down for the political neophytes in the race but with stupendous wealth, with a view of getting financial settlements from them in their realisation that Hon. Odi Okojie will win all of them in a landslide victory at the polls.
Odi Okojie who is presently representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has in the last 18 months demonstrated that he has what it takes to develop the two local government areas he's representing in the House of Representatives. He has sponsored several motions on the floor of the House which were supported by his colleagues, passed as resolutions of the House and now being implemented by the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government.
Odi Okojie has also sponsored several bills that have passed the second reading and now being attended to by the relevant House Committee for final passage.
Odi Okojie's exploits as chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Down Stream Petroleum Sector has contributed to the coming on stream of the Dangote Refinery and the full rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries. These feat has not only resulted in market stability in petroleum products distribution in the country, but also pushing down the prices of petroleum products across board. A visit to a petrol station in our various localities will confirm this as it's not a fluke.
Beside these achievements, the local zoning arrangements and other factors in Edo Central Senatorial District have also aligned in favour of Hon. Henry Odianosen Okojie.
For example, the Ebakota Political Accord in Edo Central Senatorial District which is the rotation of the Senatorial seat between the old Agbazilo and Okpebho federal constituencies and among the local government areas in both constituencies are in favour of Esan North-East Local Government, Odi Okojie's native land.
And as we speak, Odi Okojie is the only Senatorial aspirant from APC in Esan North-East.
All these factors and alignment of forces in his favour have elevated Odi Okojie to be the candidate to beat ahead the Edo Central Senatorial election.
