The Acting Chairman, of Esan Central local government area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere Ainiyanlenhimi, today, 30th December, 2024, described the vote of Confidence passed on the suspended Chairman of Esan Central local government area, Hon. Paul Iyoha, and his Deputy, Hon. Nicholas Ojeme, as insipid, childish and therefore, laughable.

Speaking, in a telephone response to the said vote of confidence, Rt. Hon. Iyere said; "I don't know what some people take legislative business to be. Earnestly, I don't know.

"Legislative business is a very serious business, where pertinent issues that bothers on the wellbeing of the people are conducted; the seriousness and importance of legislative businesses makes it to be conducted in the hallow Chamber, and during plenary.

"Legislative businesses are not conducted in beer parlours, neither are they conducted in peoples homes after gulping several bottles of beer.

"These people should understand what due process is all about. I don't have to begin to tutor them on this, especially as it relates to the business of legislation.

"What they did, if it is actually true, because, I haven't seen it myself, does not only go against legislative ethics, but it is also criminal; i strongly hope they know the implication?"

Continuing, Rt. Hon. Iyere said, he would have rather preferred not to respond, as it is childish, but chose to respond, because he loves to straighten out records, especially when it has to do with Esan central local government area issues; saying; "...now, you can understand what the legislators meant, when they passed a vote of no confidence on the former Leader, on the ground that he is grossly incompetent. Even as i speak to you now, Councilors Victor Okosun and George Washington, of ward 5 and Ward 6, respectively, are currently on suspension.

"In legislative business, competency, Integrity, and character, are very germaine". Hon. Iyere said.

It will be recalled that, Hon. Iyoha, who was the Chairman, Esan Central local government Council, as well as his Deputy, Hon. Nicholas Ojeme, are currently on suspension, as pronounced by Edo State House of Assembly, EDHA.
