The statement by Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, in a viral video currently making the rounds, that "Nigeria will burn, if...", has been condemned by a group, 'Akpakomiza Support Group', as they described it as 'unguided', and capable of making the rest of the world to begin to see the people of Edo state as violent people, especially as the statement is coming from the Chief Executive Officer and the number one citizen of the state.

This condemnation by the group, was expressed in a Press Statement by the group, and signed by the Director, Mrs. Uche.

The statement reads in part;

 "The attention of the Leadership and members of Akpakomiza Support Group, has been drawn to the rather unfortunate video currently in circulation, where the governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, was seen saying; "Nigeria will burn, if certain people should try what they did again".

"This statement, by the Chief Executive Officer, and the number one citizen of our dear state, has brought Edo state into the news, again, for a wrong reason. The people of Edo state, are not violent people, and we will not like to be seen as such, simply because of the Governor's utterance..."

Continuing, the group in the statement, condemned the utterance of the governor in the video, saying; "...it is capable of creating disunity and bad blood amongst the otherwise united people of Edo state..."

The group advised the governor, and those that are suppose to show good examples for others to follow, to avoid such unguided utterances.
