EDO STATE SHOULD GET IT RIGHT NOW OR NEVER

As Edo state prepares for the 2024 governorship election, it is time for Edo state delegates that are responsible for choosing the candidates in the respective political parties as well as the electorates that will finally cast their votes for candidates of their choice, to know the implication of allowing any sentiments, including financial inducements to take a centre stage in their decision making, in casting their votes for any candidate.
The old order experience of delegates casting votes for a candidate after being financially induced to do so, only for them to begin to regret and lament, later, after their choice of candidate emerge as a poor performing governor should be left to go with history. Today, however delegates should be guided by the antecedents, intrinsic and estrinsic qualities of their choice of candidates rather than allow pecuniary and selfish interests to guide their decisions hence present the less capable aspirants for the governorship portion.
To change the sorry situation that Edo state is faced with, we first must agree that we need the right person, with the requisite managerial experience, and exposure to be at the helm of affairs in our dear state.
Voters and people of Edo state in general should jettison all sentiments (tribal, political, sectional etc) and focus on an individual that can guarantee a better state for us. We have blindly tested all sorts of persons and personalities with the management of Edo state in the past and they have all failed us. At this time however we cannot afford to gamble with who should lead Edo state, as we no longer have the luxury of time.
We cannot continue to do the same thing over and over again and expect to get a different or better result, we must try a different approach, which is why I am asking our delegates across the political parties that are featuring candidates for 2024 Edo guber to as a matter of urgency zip up their pockets in the interest of our dear state and at least for once, honestly do an assessment of aspirants and present the best of them to the voters.
Some of the delegates that supported Obaseki to emerge as the governor of Edo state, that were paid to do so at that time, are today, regretting their actions, they are the ones that are lamenting the most today. This should be a big lesson to those delegates that will be responsible for voting during the upcoming primary elections in the respective parties. It is better for them to take this harmless advice now, and save themselves and Edo state the catastrophy that will befall Edo state should a wrong Candidate become the next governor.
A word is enough for the wise Edo state delegates and voters.
