Ewatto Jubilate as Uhomoibhi Declares Interest

Yesterday, Tuesday 29th August 2023, Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, formally declared his interest to contest for Edo governorship position come 2024 in his hometown, Ewatto, Esan South East local government area of Edo state.
His declaration of interest came up in an event where he hosted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members of his Ward, Ward 3 in Ewatto, his country home.
His declaration of interest has finally brought to rest, the rumours that seem to be making the rounds whether or not Ambassador Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi OFR, will be contesting for the governorship position.
Addressing the mammoth gathering of his people, during the event that held in his compound in Ewatto, Ambassador Uhomoibhi recalled his lowly beginning in Ewatto; saying, he passed the West Africa School Certificate exam when he was in Form four, and when his mates were writing the same exam in form five, he was already writing the Advanced level London General Certificate Examination, GCE.
Ambassador Uhomoibhi, who said, he attended Saint Anthony Primary school, Ewatto and many years later, ended up in another St. Anthony College, Oxford University, in the United Kingdom, where he obtained his PhD degree, at the age of 25years, pointed out that;
'... the name coincidence of the primary school i started with, in this little village of Ewatto and that of the institution where I ended up my academic pursuit, Saint Anthony College, Oxford University, in far away, United Kingdom, signifies the hand of God...'
Ambassador Uhomoibhi, who made it clear that, he is coming out to contest for the position of the governor of Edo state, not because of any personal reason, but because he wants to bring his network of connections and wealth of experience in governance to bear on the social, economic and Infrastructural development of Edo state, added that, God's hand is clearly on his plans to contest for the governorship position.
Sir S.O Iwenamhen, the LGA Secretary General, who responded on behalf of the PDP Ward 3 Members, pointed out the sterling qualities of Ambassador Uhomoibhi in terms of his academic qualifications, intrinsic content and integrity, said; '...all Edo People know that Ambassador Uhomoibhi is a unique politician, he is a Politician par excellence, an exemplary politician, compared to all other politicians...'
Continuing, the LGA Secretary General said; '...Ewatto is very lucky to have a person of unique personality like Ambassador Uhomoibhi as a son, and we are also lucky that, amongst all the other candidates contesting for the position of the governor come 2024, he stands out', saying, Ewatto is already one step ahead of others.
Those present at the event, include, Chief (Hon.) J. E Amankhian, Leader I, Mr. Ayangbe Jata, the LGA Financial Secretary, Hon. Tuesday Iyoha and Hon. Friday Oriaghe, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the ward respectively, Hon. Orlando Akhuamheokhuan and Mr. Osage Paul Ehiawanguan, the Secretary General and his Assistant respectively. Others include; Mr. Emmanuel Ehidiamen, the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Matthew Omondiagbe, the Organising Secretary and Mr. Iyere Innocent Adebayo, the Auditor, amongst several other party fateful.
