2023 Election:
Esan Central Electorate to engage Candidates in Political Debate
Ahead of the 2023 elections, the electorates in in Edo central Senatorial district, Esanland, are set to engage all the Candidates vying for elective positions in a town hall meeting, to quiz them on what they have to offer if they are eventually voted into office, as all is now set for the hosting of political debate for all candidates of the different political parties contesting for political offices in Edo Central Senatorial district.
The political debate organized by Esan Akugbe for Good Leadership Unity Forum, a registered Non-Governmental and non-Political group, will give the people of Esanland a first hand opportunity to interact directly with different candidates in different Political parties that are contesting for different positions in the 2023 elections.
The Political Debate, will enable the people of Edo central Senatorial district to engage the different candidates of all the political parties to enable them make informed decisions in the upcoming Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections, under one roof.
Speaking with our correspondent, the convener of the group, Comrade Irabor Shaba Jnr. Aka Shaba Mien-Mien, said; it is high time our people get properly educated on the reasons why they should vote wisely in the next election, as it should not be business as usual, saying; ‘…this is the time to properly educate our electorates regarding who to vote for. It is time for the electorates in Esanland to determine the sincerity of purpose of the candidates they are voting for, before they append their thumbs on the ballot paper…”
Continuing, he said; “…in as much as the electorates are the ones sending the candidates to represent them in the different political offices the candidates are contesting for, they have every right to get first-hand information from the candidates and the upcoming political debate is an avenue for that to happen”.
Comrade Shaba also revealed that, there will be a massive media coverage of the event as many Esan people in Diaspora are now more interested than ever before in what is happening in the political environment in Esanland.
The Political Debate will hold on Friday, the 20th of January, 2023 by 10:00am at the Okaijesan hall, Irrua, in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
