Choose Wisely This Time, Igbaekemen Tells Esan People

The people of Esanland, politically identified as Edo Central Senatorial District, has been advised to shun Dr. Asuelimen Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming Edo 2024 guber, saying; "Esan people should not make another mistake this time, of falling for Obaseki's scam, as Asuelimen Ighodalo, is Obaseki's imposed candidate as such, will continue in the maladministration of his godfather, the incumbent governor".
This advice was given by Dr. Goddy Osa Igbaekemen, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign in the 2023 general election, an indigene of Edo Central Senatorial District, who has been campaigning for a true and passionate Esan person to be the next governor of Edo state, as all Edo State people have agreed that it is the turn of an Esan man to be at the helm of affairs in Edo state.
Speaking with a team of newsmen in Abuja recently, Dr. Igbaekemen, who is the Director, Data and Intelligence of Akpakomiza Support Group, said; "we cannot continue to deliberately repeat failures. We the people of Edo Central benefitted nothing from governor Obaseki's eight years of governance, and since it is Obaseki that has anointed and is imposing Asuelimen Ighodalo, we should expect nothing more than what Obaseki has done to us."
"though, the ovation that welcomed Senator Okpebholo in our tour of Esanland, is encouraging, and is an indication of his total acceptance by Esan people, as he was constantly called 'the people's governor, 'the original', we are not resting on our oars".
Describing Governor Godwin Obaseki's eight years of governance, as "eight years of nothingness", Dr. Igbaekemen said, "Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the current governor of Edo state, singlehandedly anointed and imposed Asuelimen Ighodalo on the PDP, as such, he should not be given the opportunity to do same on the people of Edo state".
Continuing, Dr. Igbaekemen, who said, before the primary election of the PDP, there were eminently qualified, true and full blooded Esan men with reputable international recognition amongst the aspirants of the PDP, but Obaseki shunned them all and 'flogged' all the leaders and members of the PDP to accept Ighodalo, a complete stranger, to the people, added that, this is completely unacceptable. Edo people has been deceived and scammed all these years. This must stop.
Dr. Igbaekemen concluded by saying; "... empathy, passion for the growth and development of the state, and the people, closeness to the people, originality, glaring sincerity of purpose, meekness and responsiveness to the plight of the people, are qualities that Edo people should look out for in the incoming governor". All these qualities, he said, are heavily loaded in Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress Edo 2024 guber candidate.
