The Peoples General, Sends Easter Message...says, we celebrate Easter because Jesus rose from the dead

General Cecil Esekhiagbe Rtd. Ph.D. has sent Easter greetings to all Christian fateful in Edo state and beyond, as he reminds the Christian communities that Easter is celebrated to mark the event of our risen Christ, saying; "...we celebrate Easter because Jesus rose from the dead". This, he said, is the foundation of the Christian faith.
General Cecil, sent this message in a chat with newsmen, as Christians prepare for the celebration of the risen Christ.
Continuing, he said; "...I and my family send greetings to all Christians as well as those observing Easter in Edo state and in Nigeria". Saying, Easter is the most important event of the Christian faith, when people around the world come together with their families and friends to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the hope of life to come to Christians.
According to him, the life and death of Jesus are the ultimate expression of love, and the supreme demonstration of God's mercy, faithfulness and redemption. He said; "since Christ's miraculous resurrection on Easter, more than 2024 years ago, Christians have expressed joy and gratitude for this wondrous sacrifice and for God's promise of freedom for the oppressed, and healing for the brokenhearted".
According to the People's General, this year's Easter celebration, comes at a time when our nation is facing many challenges, but this message of Easter, remains unchanged, as sorrow may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning, as such, we must be reminded that suffering will pass and goodness will prevail in our nation.
He called on all the people of Edo state to join him this Easter season, in praying for peace in the upcoming September 21st gubernatorial election in Edo state as we ask for God's protection and wisdom throughout the electioneering period.
"Throughout this Easter holiday season and beyond may Christ love guide us towards equity, fairness, justice, and compassion and also renew us with the assurance of hope and everlasting joy, as I wish everyone with my best wishes for a happy Easter celebration.
